Teens 'N Transition is a program for high school students who are about to experience one of the most significant transitions in their life: college. A peer-led program, TNT gives students the tools they need to be proactive in safeguarding themselves. Participants hear personal accounts from program leaders, learn how to identify high-risk situations, and learn steps they can take to avoid becoming the victim of violent crime.
Hear What People Have to Say About TNT:
"Thanks for the amazing assembly PEACE OUTside Campus provided for our seniors last month. We are always so impressed with the poise and professionalism of the young people who come and share their life's experiences!" School Counselor "It educated me to be aware and enabled me to take measures to stay safe and keep others safe." High School Senior "What made the biggest impact was hearing these issues from college students and not my parents or teachers." High School Senior "The whole thing was interesting and was an eye-opener." High School Senior “I joined POC because the Foundation came to my campus to give a TNT Presentation. I was so impacted by Lindsey’s story, that I wanted to pass along what I learned to other students. It’s my hope that I can help reduce their risk of victimization. I’ve learned so much by being part of this incredible organization and use their suggested safety tips as part of my everyday life.” TNT Intern "Everything was well presented. Very informative and helpful. The speakers were very candid and open. All did an excellent job!" Parent |

Frequently Asked Questions:
What happens at a Teens 'N Transition presentation?
Our program is led by 2-4 college interns, accompanied by a staff member from PEACE OUTside Campus (POC). Participants will hear personal accounts of incidents from program leaders, learn how to identify high-risk situations, and take steps to avoid becoming a victim of violent crime. The students are encouraged to participate in the discussion and ask questions. At the end of the presentation we will provide information links and hotlines. We will also hand out brochures with safety tips to help students as they navigate the next step in their lives.
What is the length of the presentation?
Ideal time for our presentation is 50 minutes. The presentation can be reformatted for shorter sessions if needed, however some topics may be lost. Depending on time, we would like to leave time for questions. We also ask that students complete an anonymous post-presentation survey to give us feedback to help us improve our program in the future.
What will we distribute to students?
POC will distribute brochures filled with safety tips, information links, and hotline numbers. It is our goal to provide all students with the information and tools they need to protect themselves. We also bring wristbands, lanyards, and other POC giveaways for students.
Do we regularly update the program?
Our data and statistics are being updated regularly. POC seeks to improve its Teens ‘N Transitions programming by soliciting feedback from our three stakeholders: students, parents, and interns. Post- program surveys, are administered after each presentation. Data is compiled and analyzed with recommendations for improvement, which is then incorporated into subsequent sessions.
What is the cost of a Teens ‘N Transition presentation?
Funding for our programs relies solely on the generosity of private donors. A donation based upon your school’s student enrollment and number of presentations is greatly appreciated and will ensure our continued success.
